It is part of the Springfield metropolitan area, Massachusetts. The town is south of Hadley, Massachusetts. South Hadley is home to Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley High School, Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School, and the Berkshire Hills Music Academy.
