The Roosevelt Regional Landfill, one of the largest landfills in the United States, is located at Roosevelt. The community was named after President Theodore Roosevelt.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population fell from 156 to 152 (-3%). Half of its homes were built before 2002.
