Named in 1889 for a Suquamish head chief, Chico is located on the Dyes Inlet waterfront, south of Silverdale. At the 2020 census the community had a population of 2,723.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population grew from 2,259 to 2,723 (+21%). Half of its homes were built before 1987.
