It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 453. The CDP is in central Florence County, along U.S. Routes 301 and 52, 8 miles (13 km) south of Florence and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Effingham.
Half of its homes were built before 1982.
