from WikipediaRead it all ↗Casstown was originally called Trimmensburgh, and under the latter name was laid out in 1832 by one Mr. Trimmens, and named for him. The present name honors Lewis Cass, an American military officer, politician, and statesman. A post office called Casstown has been in operation since 1846.
