from WikipediaRead it all ↗What is now the Village of Lake Success was first settled by Europeans in 1783, and the community became known as Lakeville. This name was widely used to describe the area until circa 1927, about the time the Village of Lake Success incorporated as a village.
In the early 20th century, William K. Vanderbilt II bought land around the Lake Success kettle lake for a home.
