The story
from WikipediaRead it all ↗Macclesfield was started between 1900 and 1901 when the Tarboro, North Carolina businessman, Henry Clark Bridgers founded The Macclesfield Company. The Macclesfield Company bought land surrounding the tracks of East Carolina Railway in what is now Macclesfield and built warehouses and other buildings.
Bracebridge Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, with a boundary increase in 2005.

Nothing in Macclesfield is on the National Register yet
That’s true of most small towns. It doesn’t mean Macclesfield has no history, only that no one has written up a nomination. The closest listed place is Webb-Barron-Wells House in Macclesfield, 3.7 miles away.
