from WikipediaRead it all ↗The first postmaster for Elrod, North Carolina was Malcolm H. McCall on July 29, 1892. The post office lasted until August 31, 1957. Elrod was also the junction between the Atlantic Coast Line's Main Line and the Southeastern Railroad, which later became part of the Myrtle Beach Branch, both owned by the Atlantic Coast Line.
