The village is located within Homestead Township on U.S. Highway 31 along the Platte River. The community has the name of Honor Griffin, the daughter of a first settler.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population grew from 328 to 337 (+3%). Half of its homes were built before 1971.
