The story
from WikipediaRead it all ↗The village took its name from a Native American mound at the original site. In a 2019 feature, local residents and officials noted that Mound was incorporated in c. 1917 and that early activity included a hotel, a general store by the railroad, and a small sawmill east of the settlement.
