It is part of the Natchitoches Micropolitan Statistical Area. South of Goldonna along Louisiana Highway 156, one may access Saline Bayou, popular for blackwater canoeing.
Its population held steady between the last two censuses: 430 people in 2010, 428 in 2020. Half of its homes were built before 1987.
