from WikipediaRead it all ↗In 1871, resident and heir Robert Ewing donated land in order to bring the Maysville and Lexington Railroad to the area. In 1873, the post office was established, with Ewing postmaster, who gave the town his name. The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1979.
