Serena has a post office with ZIP code 60549. Serena was the residence of Peg McDonnell Breslin, the first woman elected to the Illinois Appellate Court outside Cook County.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population grew from 1,138 to 1,191 (+5%). Half of its homes were built before 1996.
