The story
from WikipediaRead it all ↗Cuba was founded in 1837 when the two rival towns of Centerville and Middleton merged. The new town was named after the island of Cuba. The name could be in reference to the town of Havana, roughly 15 miles to the southeast. A post office has been in operation at Cuba since 1837.

Nothing in Cuba is on the National Register yet
That’s true of most small towns. It doesn’t mean Cuba has no history, only that no one has written up a nomination. The closest listed place is Duvall-Ash Farmstead in Joshua, 6.5 miles away.
