Dieterich, member of the Illinois House of Representatives, U.S. Representative from Illinois, and U.S. Senator from Illinois, was born near Cooperstown.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population fell from 311 to 264 (-15%). Half of its homes were built before 1938.
