The story
from WikipediaRead it all ↗Berlin was incorporated as a town in 1910. A post office has been in operation at Berlin since 1910. The community was named after Berlin, in Germany. Upon American entry into World War I, the town was renamed "Lens" due to Anti-German sentiment. The name "Berlin" was soon afterwards restored.
