The population was 23,817 at the 2020 United States census, up from 20,602 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the Pensacola–Ferry Pass–Brent, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ensley is a transportation corridor for the Pensacola Area, with US 90 Alt, US 29, and I-10 running through Ensley.
Between the 2010 and 2020 censuses its population grew from 20,602 to 23,817 (+16%). Half of its homes were built before 1989.
