Missing Local Spots

I was just thinking about Damariscotta Lake State Park and how nice it is to have such a beautiful spot for swimming and picnics right in our town, but it also made me wonder if there's a local place or tradition that you miss, maybe something that used to be near the park or a favorite summer activity that's no longer around, what's a memory that you associate with it?
