Remembering Old Spots

I was driving down U.S. Highway 12 the other day and it got me thinking about how our town has changed over the years. With all the beautiful lakes and woods around us, I'm sure many spots in Independence have undergone transformations. What used to be there before some of our current landmarks or businesses were built?
