Newry is a borough in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 231 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Altoona, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area and one of the communities comprising the Altoona Urban Area. It was named after Newry in Northern Ireland. The town was founded in 1793 by Patrick Cassidy, an Irish immigrant who named it after his hometown.
