City in Oklahoma, United StatesNowata (Lenape: Nuwatu, Nuwi ta ) is a city in and the county seat of Nowata County, Oklahoma, United States. As of the 2020 census, Nowata had a population of 3,517. The area where it was established was then part of the Cherokee Nation in Indian Territory.
