Washington is a town in Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 4,522 at the 2020 census. The town is named after George Washington, who passed through the town during the Revolution. Washington is in the central part of the county, northeast of the city of Poughkeepsie. U.S. Route 44 passes across the town.
