About Orono
Rural city in Minnesota, United StatesOrono ( OR-ə-noh, OR-noh) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of Minneapolis about 16 miles (26 km) west of Lake Minnetonka's north shore. The population was 8,315 at the 2020 census. Orono is the largest municipality by area on Lake Minnetonka and is largely residential.
