Village in Louisiana, United StatesRichmond is a village in Madison Parish, Louisiana, United States, located on Brushy Bayou. The population was 511 at the 2020 census, down from 577 in 2010. It is part of the Tallulah Micropolitan Statistical Area. The site of Richmond served as the parish seat during the American Civil War and was the location of the Battle of Richmond on June 15, 1863, when Union forces burned the town during the Vicksburg Campaign. The present-day Village of Richmond was incorporated on August 28, 1973, more than a century after the destruction of the earlier settlement.
