Clanton is a city in Chilton County, Alabama, United States and the county seat. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover–Cullman Combined Statistical Area. At the 2020 census, the population was 8,768. Clanton is near the site of the geographic center of the U.S. state of Alabama.
